100 Days is over!
On October 22, 2006 the probationary period of 100 days since transplant (July 14) ended. No more pills, no more special handling. We can now resume life and check in monthly with his oncologist and see how far we can get before the Myeloma starts creeping back.
As a celebration, we went to Myrtle Beach, SC for that weekend and attended a PT Cruiser event with over 160 cars. The weather was beautiful and warm and we enjoyed the trip, the friendly people, and the sites.
I can't believe how great Pete is feeling. I know I read online that people feel a big difference after transplant, but I couldn't imagine anything like this. He's almost back to his old self prior to diagnosis.
He's lost over 40 lbs. and really looks great. He's fitting into clothes he hasn't worn in years which makes him feel good. He doesn't have nearly the muscles or build he did before all this, but he has much more stamina and energy and I can tell the difference in his mental state even. He's busy every day with something.
We raised almost $500 with the Light The Night walk. Thank you so much! It didn't rain until we started to walk and we had an umbrella, but decided that with all we'd been through this year we were tough enough to just walk in the warm rain and be happy about living and that's exactly what we did!
