Tummy Troubles

Pete went back on Velcade on May 5. He received Doxil on 5/8 and we tried a tip I read about on the Doxil website. We packed his lower legs in ice and then covered him with a blanket. It worked! His legs and ankles didn't swell!

That same day, 5/8, he felt rather tired because of not sleeping much that week. He was taking dexamethasone again and it was keeping him up. He slept all through the treatment and went straight home to bed.

That night and all the next day, he was very tired and had "bathroom problems". I gave him a prescription on hand for such things and it stopped, but all he did all weekend was sleep.

When he went to the clinic on the 12th for Velcade, but they could see that he was not feeling well and Dr. C. saw him. He said since all his labs were normal he probably had a stomach virus. Since he hasn't been anywhere except the clinic, that seemed somewhat unlikely. Nonetheless, we went home and hoped for the best. They withheld the Velcade for the day.

On 5/15 we returned to the clinic for Velcade and were told not to do it again. They were concerned about his condition and he was in a lot of pain from gas.

Fast forward to today, 5/19. Pete was admitted to the hospital today after much aggravation between two different doctors.

He's received X-rays, CT Scans, labs, blood gas tests, urine tests, stool tests. Hopefully tomorrow the doctor...a doctor...will have all the results and come to some conclusion on what the problem has been for the past 12 days of misery. Hopefully he'll be on the mend and feeling much better in a couple of days.
